Award-Winning Host Jennifer Strong Joins “The Next Innovation” Podcast
Alexandria, VA — Top tech journalist Jennifer Strong is the new host of “The Next Innovation” podcast sponsored by Enterprise Ireland. Strong brings with her a 20-year background in tech reporting, including at the Wall Street Journal and the BBC, and a deep understanding of some of the most cutting-edge innovations in technology. Her debut comes at a time when tech trends such as AI and data analytics are shaping the global economy across virtually all sectors.
“I'm very excited to be joining ‘The Next Innovation.’ It stands out as one of the few tech podcasts providing real depth and critical insight into some of the most impactful trends around the world today. This work matters. I’ve been covering AI and other emerging technologies since 2016 for newsrooms including The Wall Street Journal, BBC, and MIT Technology Review,” said Strong. “Our shifting cultural and technological landscapes will determine what our collective futures look like, and I can see no higher calling than to explore how it all will affect our jobs and families. We’ll do that by looking at everything from sports to agriculture to cybersecurity, and so much more.”
While at the Wall Street Journal, Strong played a pivotal role in shaping the paper’s first digital audio efforts in the 2000s. She created and hosted the first three seasons of The WSJ’s award-winning “The Future of Everything,” and her narrative podcasts have been recognized by the Podcast Academy, New York Festivals, the Webby Awards, and The Drum Awards in London. She’s been a keynote stage host and moderator at the United Nations General Assembly, SXSW, WebSummit, The Future of Everything Festival, and many others.
Jennifer Strong's addition comes at a pivotal moment for the podcast, which debuted earlier this year at number 3 on the US Apple technology charts. "Jennifer's remarkable audio storytelling and exceptional expertise in technologies will offer listeners insight into cutting-edge developments," said Situation Room Studios Director Christine Baratta. "As a multiple award-winning creator of programs for The Wall Street Journal and MIT Technology Review, Jennifer has a unique ability to weave together complex technologies and narratives, helping listeners understand how these advancements will impact their daily lives and futures."
The first season of “The Next Innovation” showcased how automation can enhance business productivity, how augmented reality can bring brands to life, and how new forms of marine technology are helping combat the effects of climate change. The new season, hosted by Strong, features the latest innovations in wearables and sports technology, advancements in the dairy and agricultural tech industries, and cybersecurity, focusing on the groundbreaking Irish companies that are shaping the future across various sectors, including AI, medtech, sustainability, and digital transformation.
