Podcast Supervisor

Global Situation Room (GSR) and its award-winning podcasting division, Situation Room Studios (SRS), are seeking a dynamic Podcast Supervisor to join our team. This role is rooted in high-level guest booking, podcast production and project management with the opportunity to contribute to broader strategic communications and PR campaigns. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable booking a former head of state for an interview as you are managing production logistics or contributing to an earned media strategy. Strong writing and networking skills, a sharp news sense, and a deep understanding of politics and global affairs are essential.

Responsibilities:

Podcast Booking & Production

  • Identify and secure high-level guests for a prominent global affairs podcast, including diplomats, journalists, and subject matter experts.

  • Conduct outreach with compelling invitations and perform pre-interviews to brief guests on topics, logistics, and format.

  • Act as a day-to-day point of contact for podcast clients, overseeing timelines, deliverables, and budgets to ensure smooth execution across projects.

  • Manage scheduling, research, and production logistics for podcast episodes, shorts, social media, and live events.

  • Collaborate on editorial direction and develop timely, news-driven episode concepts.

  • Coordinate logistics, run-of-show, and production timelines for live podcast recordings and related in-person or virtual events.

Strategic Communications

Research Supervisor

Global Situation Room (GSR) is seeking a Research Supervisor to lead the firm’s Reputation Risk Index™ and oversee the firm’s media monitoring services. This role is central to how GSR and its clients stay ahead of the curve on breaking news, emerging trends, and evolving reputational risks. The Research Supervisor will guide the quarterly production of the Index, oversee daily research operations, and support junior team members in delivering thoughtful, high-quality analysis. Working closely with senior advisors and members of the Global Risk Advisory Council, you’ll help ensure that GSR’s insights remain sharp, relevant, and trusted by senior leaders navigating complex global issues.

Responsibilities:

Supervisory Functions:

  • Guide and support junior team members in daily research, media monitoring, and analytical tasks.

  • Provide mentorship, feedback, and professional development opportunities to foster growth and skill-building.

  • Ensure team workflows and outputs meet the firm’s standards for accuracy, insight, and timeliness.

Duties and Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support development of public-facing materials that communicate Index findings to media, public affairs executives, and corporate leaders.

  • Coordinate webinars, panel discussions, and media outreach tied to Index launches.

  • Maintain project timelines and ensure timely delivery of research, content, and communications across teams.

  • Monitor feedback and analytics to inform improvements to the Index and Council engagement strategy.

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media Production, Strategic Communication, Marketing, Business Administration, or another related field is required.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in research, public affairs, or risk analysis with 2-3 years of experience in client management.  

  • Background in media monitoring, public opinion analysis, or trend tracking is highly preferred.

  • Previous leadership experience is a plus.

Communications + Journalism Fellowship

The Communications + Journalism Fellow is a 3-6 month position for recent graduates or early-career professionals to gain hands-on experience in strategic communications, learn the agency perspective, and make meaningful contributions to Global Situation Room (GSR), Situation Room Studios (SRS), and our clients. Fellows work closely with experienced communications professionals to support public affairs and communications engagements through research, analysis, writing, media strategy, and account support.

The Fellowship also includes a podcast journalism component, offering opportunities through Situation Room Studios (SRS) to work on podcasts covering topics from international affairs to pharma to emerging tech. Fellows collaborate with former Bloomberg and NPR producers and experienced journalists to develop engaging, informative, newsworthy, audience-ready content that advances client and firm thought leadership.

Fellows receive mentorship and direct client exposure, are evaluated throughout the term, and strong performers may be considered for conversion to a full-time role at the conclusion of the Fellowship.

Responsibilities:

Public Affairs / Strategic Communications Support

  • Provide day-to-day client account support, including research, analysis, and contributions to strategy and messaging materials.

  • Support earned media strategy and execution: build media lists, draft pitches, track outreach, prepare media engagement materials, and compile results reports.

Summer Internship

The GSR Summer Internship is a hands-on, full-time opportunity for rising seniors or recent graduates to gain meaningful experience in strategic communications, public affairs, and media relations at Global Situation Room (GSR).

Interns work directly with experienced communications professionals across client accounts, contributing to research, media strategy, writing, reporting, and event support. This program is designed for highly motivated individuals eager to learn the agency perspective, sharpen their writing and analytical skills, and make an immediate impact in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Interns are evaluated throughout the term, and high performers may be considered for future full-time opportunities.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Communications & Account Support

    • Monitor breaking news and policy developments; compile daily and weekly media monitoring reports with concise summaries and insights.
